Meet The Team

We are a group of high-schoolers from Dupage County who aim to create face masks and face shields to donate them to local businesses, restaurants, and grocery stores that do not have any. The purpose of our project “Break the Outbreak – Dupage County” is to assist the public in staying safe and healthy in these unprecedented times.

Alekya Mallampalli

Chapter Director – Dupage County

I want to be a part of BTOB because I want to help the small and local businesses in my community during the pandemic. With the increase in people disregarding the seriousness of the pandemic, I wish to help those who are serving the community, small businesses, and lower-income neighborhoods to help them stay safe in these unprecedented times. If volunteering at the community level is increased, which I strive to accomplish with my team, we can improve the health of those who are affected the most.

I want to join BTOB to better serve others and help make a difference. People in these uncertain times that are not able to meet with the rapid changes that they had to adapt to quickly. With BTOB I will be able to provide them the resources needed to stay safe and live a prosperous and healthy life.

I believe that with the global pandemic, voluntary work is extremely important at a community level. For those ages that have experienced a pandemic, resources and aid needs to be readily available and easily accessible. With organizations such as Break the Outbreak, I can provide my time and effort in helping those who don’t have access to these resources such as masks and give back to the community. In a time like this, I believe that it’s necessary to make sure community health is intact along with individuals.

Break the Outbreak demonstrates compassion to the local community during such a difficult time. During this time, I believe that together we can make a difference in providing care to those who need it most. Chicago suburbs were heavily affected and it is my hope as a future medical professional to provide equal care to all communities. Break the Outbreak brings hope and positivity to fight these unprecedented times.
